Established in 1979 originally based in Essex, through growth and progression moved to Basildon in 1997 to a modern freehold premises, employing in excess of 35 people operating multi-shift capacity, supplying major customers within the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
Managing Director Allen Knife, undertook Management buyout in 2014 ensuring continued growth and success, allowing GKM to redefine strategic business objectives, rebrand and to streamline in-house processes. Significant reinvestment back into the company has seen over £2m of improvements ensuring continual development since 2015.
GKM operates Match-IT production, planning and stock control system; managing the entire supply chain from initial enquiry to delivery.
Match-IT is a sophisticated finite capacity planning system that creates achievable work schedules with regard to our capacity, loading, min/max batch size constraints, supplier lead times and much more. This enables GKM to promise delivery dates to our customers and have complete confidence in achieving them.
This is also an integrated quality assurance system which means we can control permissions and our quality procedures are always followed. Full audit history is kept ensuring complete transparency identifying who did what and when. Resulting in adherence to procedures to quality auditors and customers. G.K.M has the capability to manufacture from traditional engineering drawings and models to finished components with full Quality Control, for the Aerospace, Defence, Auto and any other industries where a high level of precision and accuracy is required using a wide range of materials including Aluminum, Steel, Invar, Castings and Titanium.
